Stage Q&A Production
The production department handles the planning and organization of the festival, from locations furniture and technology to scripts and social events. IDFA screens around 250 documentaries during the festival and produces around 450 Q&A’s. Together with the two Q&A producers you are responsible for the recruitment, selection and scheduling of the 40+ moderators who will moderate these Q&A’s.
As part of the Q&A team and you will assist in the following activities:
Recruitment and selection of moderators and interpreters;
Inventorying availability of film teams per programmed screening;
Creating a schedule for all Q&As, administering this in the Fiona database and communicating with filmmakers (via guest service), moderators and interpreters;
Training of moderators, providing practical information and content instruction;
Providing a ‘how to moderate’ workshop for the moderators;
Accrediting moderators and interpreters;
Giving moderators access to previews so that they can see the films in advance and prepare the post-talk properly.
Second- or third-year HBO student, preferably in a relevant field of study;
You have good social skills;
You are keen to take on all kinds of different things;
You are curious about (or already have experience with) festival dynamics;
You are proactive and like to take on various tasks;
You are good at multi-tasking;
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
A full-time internship (four days a week) from September 1st until December 1st, 2025;
If time is needed to attend classes, we can discuss the possibilities;
Remuneration is €375,- per month for a full-time internship (four days a week), lunch included when working in the office;
Flexibility to work from home in discussion with the program coordinator;
Travel expenses within the Netherlands are covered if you live outside of Amsterdam during the internship;
Travel costs to the Netherlands and accommodation are not covered by IDFA.
