Floor Coordinator
Het Documentaire Paviljoen is a new cultural hub in the heart of Amsterdam. It serves as a meeting place for audiences, film professionals, talent, and students, celebrating the thriving documentary genre: from creative films on the big screen to immersive works and installations, from workshops and talks to school screenings.
The Floor Coordinator is a part of Het Documentaire Paviljoen team, which currently consists of 9 colleagues who work on the year-round public, partner, educational, and rental programs taking place in our spaces. Part of our week we work together in the IDFA office in Amsterdam, and part of our week we work from home. You will be responsible for instructing our team of Floor Managers and Volunteers, and together with them ensuring a smooth production of events for our colleagues as well as a welcoming space for our visitors.
What are you going to do?
Recruit, train, and oversee a team of floor managers and volunteers, which includes creating the weekly schedules;
Provide clear instructions and guidance to the floor managers and volunteers to ensure efficient operation;
Creating call sheets for our events, and ensuring all relevant information is transferred from the organizers and producers of the events to the floor managers for a smooth execution of our day to day schedule;
Play a role in the pre-production of more complex public, partner or rental events;
Arranging staff catering for all events;
Coordinating the cleaning schedule of event spaces;
Manage safety procedures to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
Who are we looking for?
You have experience in hospitality;
You can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously;
You can motivate a team in the execution of an event;
You take initiative, have a problem-solving attitude with the ability to adapt, and are looking forward to joining a team that is building a new space and way of working together;
You have excellent communication skills and thrive in a position where you work with many different people (colleagues, partners, guests);
You are very organized and pay attention to detail;
You speak and write English and Dutch fluently.
What do we offer?
A year contract starting as soon as possible, but at the latest by 1 December 2024. This position is for 0.8-1.0 fte. Initially, the function is filled in on the basis of annual contracts; after 3 years it is determined whether there is room for an indefinite contract.
This job is rated in the function producer 2 of the generic function house of IDFA, corresponding to a gross monthly salary in scale 5. The scale is divided into 10 periodicals. Grading is done based on knowledge and experience.
